Ann Donnelly – Fused Glass Artist
Inspired by the wildlife found within her Warwickshire garden, Ann’s work is unique in creating a sense of nature through the manipulation of fused glass. Her range of free-standing garden bird sculptures is designed to fascinate and delight, evoking the charm of these tiny creatures as they hop around the garden. Birds are mounted on fruit-wood bases from her garden or on blocks of recycled English oak and other interesting hardwoods.
Kiln-fused glass is an exciting way of working with glass and it enables Ann to fill her work with rich colour, texture and depth. Recently she has been exploring three-dimensional images by ‘painting’ multiple layers in fine glass powder and fusing them together to make a solid block. Ann also produces delicate, hand-ground and polished, gravity-drop vases and bowls
